Photos From the New Camera

I have been taking a lot of pictures with my new camera. I have actually been taking a lot of pictures of my cat Hallie, but I will spare you those.

Today I went to visit my aunt at the site where she has been building a natural built cottage for the last four months with ten other women. It was so inspiring and mind-blowing. These ladies with the help of others built a house, a real house, a beautiful house in four months. It's really amazing what people can do.

Here are a few pictures from my new camera:

I love UPS

Tuesday was an amazing day! My camera arrived in the mail.... I was so happy. I took pictures of the unwrapping!

I hope that these are the last IPHONE photos on my blog....

Knitting and Such

I did it. I bought a nice camera. I got it at a really good price and it was the first thing that I have ever bought on EBAY. It was really exciting. I found that I was really competitive about it. I was like if that mother f*cker bids higher than me... Cyber-rage; weird. So that was fun. The camera hasn't arrived yet so I am obsessively tracking it on the internet. Imagine the days before the web. Like when you would write a letter and send it with some stranger who was passing through on a horse and then four months later some other traveler would bring you the four ounces of Molasses that you ordered...

I have been working on my knitting projects recently. I stopped by my local knitting store and they showed me how to do the coolest edging stitch on a hat. So neat looking. Also the woman manning the store showed me this really cool website: http://www.ravelry.com/ . It's like facebook but for knitters. So many wonderful patterns...

Well I don't really want to post anymore photos until I have my new camera, but I have a couple cuties...

I left Joel this note:

.....And when I came home he had responded:

Cute Right?

Fall Is In The Air

1. i made a quilt for Hallie because she is the sweetest cat in the world. she doesn't really like it that much, but when ever i come across her sleeping i gently drape it over her.

2. joel and i went to farmers market last saturday and got so much good food. i feel so much better about spending money on produce when i am at the farmers market.

3. there were so many kids at the farmers market. so cute.

4. i am thinking about buying a camera. i am not sure yet. i don't know if i should spend a lot of money or if i should go for a lower quality camera. the truth is anything is going to be better than my iphone.

5. it's truly jacket weather here. love it. love it. love it.

6. the moment before i put her sweet little quilt on her.

7. i got the blue and white mug the other day and it reminds me of the patten on my moms pyrex. i love it.

8. trying to do some writing. entering the NPR fiction context. 600 words of less. about a president, real or fictional. you should do it.

9. i found another clip board to hang on the wall.

A few more pictures

TGIF

I don't a set schedule at the job that I work. It's a weird feeling to have different days off every week. It's hard to make plans and have a week to week routine, but it's nice that it changes and you are free at different times and therefor able to do all different kinds of things. I no longer have that feeling of TGIF, it's nice, I like that. The weekdays blend with the weekends and it feels like every night is an appropriate night to get drunk.

I have been really missing school this fall. It feels weird not to be going back to school. No sharp pencils, 1.5 rule paper, or worry about where your classes are. It refreshing, but I would be lying if I didn't confess a little jealousy for all those bright eyed eager learners. I just joined a writing group here in Asheville. I am struck by a couple of things about it. The first is that, unlike school, all of these people have chosen to be there, an also unlike school, it costs nothing. The other thing that is interesting about it is that there are people of all ages there and they are all smart and interesting. This further backs up all of my problems with conventional education.
