Best Site Ever

I was reading my favorite blog, Bleubird, yesterday and I loved this post. I looked at the site, FAB, that she recommended and I fell in love. Here are some things that I loved from there:

Madewell

I love Madewell so much. They have the best clothes and shoes. I really want these little beauties. They are exclusively available at Madewell.

Photos From Around the House

-Been knitting up a storm over here.
-I love the way that our house looks at night.
-Our house was so messy this morning. Sometimes mess is beautiful.
-I got these "grapes" from the farmers market. They are called Muscadines. So good.
-Ketchup and Mustard colored hat.

Christmas is so soon

Made from felt and yarn, a little ornament for a tree.

Felt Slippers

This is not a glass slipper it is a felt slipper. I would be more inclined to fall in love with some one who wore felt slippers than someone who wore glass slippers.

Silk Scarf

Mother here is your other Christmas present:

I dyed this silk scarf. It was so easy.

Felted Bowl

I think it would be sweet if you could felt something so tightly that it could hold water. But alas I don't think that it is possible. Below you will see pictures of a bowl that I knit and then felted, and then covered in buttons. Look out Mama, this is your Christmas Present:

Sword and Shield

I love giving Secret Santa gifts. This year I got a young child, and here are the results of my endeavors:

Painting was done by a friend and woodworking was assisted by a teacher. Thanks to both of them!

Inspirational

When it comes to wood working skills my father has them. While I was at home he was busying himself with the making of wooden creations for his four grandchildren. Our own home is filled with forgotten wooden trucks and hand shaped rolling pins, relics of our childhood, made by dad years ago.

I went to the wood working shop to spend time with him. He told me over and over again that I was making him nervous. When he finished the truck he was less than satisfied with the product. I didn't know what to say, because I thought that it was beautiful.

Handmade Memory

While I was home for the holidays, I was struck with the crafting fever. I couldn't stop making stuff. One project that I was particularly fond of was a handmade memory set. The photos show the interim stages of the project. The name of this blog post sounds funny to me. How can one make a memory by hand? Once you stick a, set, on to the end of the sentence it sounds fine. But with out the set it sounds like I''m trying to recreate the world.

Secret Santa Gifts

Ah, the time for the Secret Santa gift is upon us. The idea of posting a "Secret" Santa gift online seems a little risky. But seeing as no one reads my blog, it probably doesn't matter...
