I am reaching into my photo archives for this post. This photo is from Thanksgiving, when my mom, dad, and sister cooked up a storm at her apartment in Chicago. My mama made all of these pies, and let me tell you, they were great.

Limeade
I found the best recipe for Limeade in the best place to find recipes: Cooks Illustrated.
This Limeade is perfect: http://recipes.cooksillustrated.com/beverages-recipes/american/fruit/classic-lemonade-recipe/
Here are some pictures from when I made it:

Changes
Okay so I changed up the blog a little bit. Exciting... But with the new format that I have I can make all of my pictures large, which is not exactly a good thing, because somehow it seems that one can see all of the flaws in my projects in the new size. Rough stuff.
I'm in NYC
Is it wrong that I was in New York City for NYE and I didn't go to Times Square to see the ball drop and that I played Monopoly instead?
Did you know that the Backstreet Boys and Kesha (or is it Ke$ha?) were there? That sounds like a reason to miss it right there. I did catch the final moments on TV, the ball dropping had no real effect on me, but I did have a good laugh at the fact the Kesha didn't know the words to Auld Lang Syne. Look I don't know the words either, but I also don't have to sing it in front of a million people...

Jessica Kennan
Here are two potholders that I made for the family. Materials needed: wool sweaters, yarn. This idea was inspired by my sister Jessica. She made these for my parents two years ago, and they are simply beautiful.
Felt Slippers
This is not a glass slipper it is a felt slipper. I would be more inclined to fall in love with some one who wore felt slippers than someone who wore glass slippers.
Felted Bowl
I think it would be sweet if you could felt something so tightly that it could hold water. But alas I don't think that it is possible. Below you will see pictures of a bowl that I knit and then felted, and then covered in buttons. Look out Mama, this is your Christmas Present:
Almost Virgin Socks
This is the second pair of socks that I have knit in my life. I love knitting socks. But I need to branch out now and learn some new patterns.
Sword and Shield
I love giving Secret Santa gifts. This year I got a young child, and here are the results of my endeavors:
Painting was done by a friend and woodworking was assisted by a teacher. Thanks to both of them!
This is a Rug
Ahh the winter has arrived, and with it my love for the holiday season. This is a rug that I wove on a loom for my papa. Made of fleece it only took an hour to make.
